China Compulsory Certification (CCC)

About the CCC certification

China Compulsory Certification (CCC) is a mandatory scheme implemented since 2002. Products within the CCC scope must get CCC certification before imported or placed into the China market. Both electrical and non electrical products are covered. The list has been updated several times since its first implementation. So far, there are more than 100 products covered in the CCC scope.

Required testing

CCC certification requires both safety and EMC testing. The testing can only be done by designated lab in China and certification must be issued by CNCA designated certification body. For safety， the interntational CB test certificate and report can be accepted, while sample is still required for identity checking and necessary national deviation testing at the designated lab. For EMC, you have to send sample to the designated lab in China for testing.

Some general information

• Any registered company，from domestic or foreign country, can be applicant/license holder for CCC.
• Each CCC certificate can only list one factory. For multi factories, the applicant need to have separate test report and CCC certificate. Repeated testing may not be necessary.
• Each factory need to have initial factory inspection before CCC certifiate can be granted. Annual follow up inspection is requied to keep the certifcate valid.
• It is allowed to cover multi-models in one CCC certificate, but specific model must be listed. Wild card or letters are not allowed in the model number.
• It is mandatory to do CCC marking on product after obtaining the CCC certificate.
• Each CCC certificate is valid for 5 years. and is subjected to annual license fee. Renewal of cerification is possible within 90 days before the expiry date.
