After a brief period as a Certification Engineer in Nemko Norway Ole-Martin moved to Asia in 1994 to start up Nemko’s first company in Asia. Over the following 16 years Ole-Martin, as the General Manager, was responsible for building up Nemko’s business in the Greater China.

Igor Duspara leads technical strategy and engineering excellence at Nemko Group, overseeing global product safety capabilities and high-performing engineering teams. With more than 14 years of experience in product safety testing, certification, and compliance engineering, he has played a key role in helping organizations navigate complex regulatory requirements. Igor is recognized for building and expanding laboratory capabilities, broadening certification scopes, and strengthening technical operations. He is an experienced NRTL reviewer and CB Scheme technical evaluator across a wide range of product categories. Passionate about developing talent, he also leads training, mentoring, and competency initiatives while supporting ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory systems, compliance audits, and data acceptance programs.

Jonathan has more than 20 years of engineering and leadership experience in Field Evaluations and operational growth. Since joining Nemko in 2021, Jonathan has led the expansion of Nemko’s national Field Evaluation operations, building a high-performing team and helping position Nemko as a leading provider of Field Evaluation services throughout North America. Per Ove Øyberg

Nemko Group President and CEO

Per Ove Øyberg joined Nemko in 2019 after a long career in the testing, inspection, and certification industry, including leadership roles at DNVGL across both local and international operations. His experience spans technical services, business leadership, and global market development.

He holds a degree in Power Electronics from Gjøvik College of Engineering and a Master of Science in Process Automation from the University of South-Eastern Norway. He has also completed executive education programs at INSEAD, SDA Bocconi, and IMD.

As President and CEO, Per Ove focuses on helping Nemko grow globally while simplifying compliance for clients navigating increasingly complex regulatory environments.

Aqsa Butt

CFO and Senior Vice President Business Support

Aqsa Butt joined Nemko in 2016 after years working across finance and business operations in both local and international organizations. Before Nemko, she served as Country CFO and Head of Business Operations for Siemens Healthcare AS, where she helped support the company’s financial and operational strategy.

At Nemko, Aqsa works across finance and business support functions, helping strengthen the systems and operations that support the company’s long-term growth. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Norwegian School of Management (BI).

John Bakken

John Bakken has held a wide range of leadership and technical roles during his 28 years at Nemko. Throughout his career, he has worked as a Project Engineer, General Manager of Nemko USA, Team Manager, Lab Manager, and IT Manager for Nemko Group.

His background across operations, technology, and international business has given him deep insight into both the organization and the global markets Nemko serves. John has worked closely with teams across Europe, Asia, and North America. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electronics from Gjøvik College of Engineering and a Master of Management degree from NTNU in Trondheim.

Kristian S. Myrbakk

Senior Vice President Business Enablement, Quality, Legal & Risk

Kristian S. Myrbakk joined Nemko in February 2020 after serving as Group Legal Counsel for DNV GL Group. He brings broad experience across legal affairs, compliance, quality management, governance, and risk within the testing, inspection, and certification industry.

Over the course of his career, Kristian has handled everything from quality systems and contracts to litigation, insurance matters, intellectual property rights, and regulatory compliance. He has also contributed to digital initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and developing new service offerings.

Before joining the TIC industry, Kristian worked as a lawyer for the Attorney General for Civil Affairs, as a public prosecutor, and as a corporate lawyer. His multidisciplinary background continues to support Nemko’s work across quality, governance, and compliance.

Grant Schmidbauer

Senior Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer

With more than 36 years of experience in international product compliance and safety, Grant Schmidbauer brings deep industry knowledge and a strong understanding of global market requirements.

Grant joined Nemko in 1996 and has also held roles with CSA International and TÜV SÜD. Over the course of his career, he has focused on helping organizations navigate complex compliance requirements while building strong client relationships and supporting market growth.

He is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Power Electronics and a Senior Member of IEEE. Grant currently serves his third term on the Board of Directors for the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society (IEEE/PSES).

Choi Yong Beom

Choi Yong Beom leads Nemko’s operations and business development activities across Asia. Since 2010, he has played an important role in expanding Nemko’s regional presence and supporting growth across key markets.

Drawing on years of international business and leadership experience, Choi works closely with teams and clients throughout the region to help deliver trusted testing, certification, and compliance services.
